Archive of the Indies was built by Philip II in the sixteenth century in order to allocate a building for the activities of merchants to the complaints of the Cathedral Chapter, and who had occupied the same for your business. In the eighteenth century, Carlos III decided to create an Archive of the Indies, for rushing a series of works among which shelves built with rich woods brought from Cuba and the impressive main staircase, with marble plates. In the eighteenth century it became the main documentary deposit the New World and the Philippines.
